My friend's home

This isn't a photo from a far off land
of brown people that are cut from a different stone
It's my friend's home. He blogs. We talk about life, god or lack there of.

All I can think about is how lucky I am.

This is an email received today from my friend in Tehran, Iran. He sent it to his blog friends.

For the record of history, and since I have no one else to tell.
Iran's dictator president held the fraudulent election, declared
victory and Tehran is on fire. Now we are in a state of coup; no web,
no sms, cellphone, satellite TV.only state run 6 channels. All the
leaders of opposition (Including the presidential candidates)
arrested.

The bitter irony of it is the NY times photo: It shows the "Avicenna"
st., my childhood home is three blocks away. I used to skate board
here when I was young. My Armenian (Christian) barber (who fled Iran
later) closed shop can be seen in the picture.

This is my home, my homeland, you, my dear friends have beautiful
blogs and nice pictures, here is mine. It was my turn to show you, my
home.

Hi there! was great to catch up with you in class today! I have been thinking about your earrings all afternoon, have you thought about doing something fun with the back? ie, the butterfly or are you going to leave them long? you could still have a piece that joins to the back after fitting through the ear that then wraps around the front piece? with me? lost me completely? think I am a complete nutter who burns barbie for fun, yep that's me ;-) Look out for a book called Adorn http://www.dymocks.com.au/search/results.aspx?N=0&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&Ntt=Adorn%20New%20Jewelry you would love it, really different stuff
