An ode to glasses lost

Ye glasses that have graced my face
I wonder where thou are
in bushes thick
in other's bags
on dusty roads afar

I've loved you all - in different ways
you were my babes, of arms.
different looks
somewhat crook
from travelling without fear of harm

yes each of you were truly scratched
from trips to different lands
the beach, the dirt
the road, the gravel,
against the keys in my bag.

I'm sorry I ever looked away
forgot you for a tick
in many ways
I let you go
I let you slide
I let you slip

But you've cost me a lot
in fact, you bitches
I have good taste
despite my lack
of riches

I've just bought a copy
of the previous pair
and they sit quite nicely
designer precisely
on the top of my matted hair

I promised these
I'd keep them well
I'd cherish them
on a pedestal
locked away
in a case of steel

but if you know me well,
or even vaguely
you'll soon see them slip
from my head
in a day
where I'm lazy

and then you'll be gone
found by another lover
and I'll search again
for the one that I can
hold on to
forever.

hang on, what was I talking about?

There's a bigger problem area in your budget Nat. Can you guess what it is? It rhymes with RIDE YOUR BIKE MORE.

Yours sustainably and in reminder that cyclists have the best bums,
Mik

Are you taking this as an opportunity to 'big up' your bum there Mik?

Yes, point taken.
And if it means I can buy another 4 pairs of sunnies, woh! Motivation!
;-P
